The logo design has its root in Hangul, with shapes that form the logo stemming from the first consonants of each syllable in the word “PyeongChang” when it is written in Hangul.
The first character in the logo represents the first consonant of the first syllable of PyeongChang in the Korean alphabet, Hangul, and express the harmony of heaven, earth, and human — Cheon-ji-in.
